Alice Mabin spent five months documenting one of Australia's last great cattle drives, capturing a drover's life in stunning photographs. Following 18,000 head of cattle from Winton, Queensland to Hay, New South Wales, she immersed herself in the daily routines, challenges, and triumphs of the droving life.
Her images reveal the early morning musters, dusty trails, campfire meals, and the unbreakable bond between drovers and their horses. The resulting book, The Drover, became an Australian bestseller and preserved this traditional way of life for future generations.
